Jonathan Ayaz is a singer, songwriter, producer, dancer, and choreographer currently living in New York City. Jonathan describes his music as Electronic combined with the soul of R&B and the infectiousness of Pop, making for a unique yet irresistible sound. His music has a dark, melancholic sentiment, in turn creating songs one can dance and/or cry to. His biggest influences are Michael Jackson, Björk, Whitney Houston, Amy Lee, Kanye West, and Lady Gaga.
Jonathan’s love for music came to fruition at a very young age. He developed his ear for music by starting piano lessons at just six years old. His passion for music truly catalyzed when he wrote his first song at thirteen years old, and he’s been writing songs ever since.
Jonathan’s songwriting is truly his standout gift; he writes every single lyric and melody in his music. He has even composed some of his songs in less than fifteen minutes. Jonathan also began developing his craft for music production at just sixteen years old; he has independently produced several of his own pieces.
Jonathan developed another talent a bit later on in life– dance. In 2014, Jonathan achieved a position on the hip-hop team at his University, doing so with absolutely no prior dance experience. Within less than a year, he attained the position of Creative Director; this role involves choreographing pieces for the team, leading in artistic direction, and producing the mixes for all of the team’s performances. After only two years of dancing, Jonathan now performs at a professional level, taking master classes from world-renowned choreographers.
Jonathan Ayaz is carving a completely new lane for himself in the realm of music, combining influences from Pop, R&B, Electronic, Hip-Hop, and Alternative to create his own unique genre. The title of Jonathan's first EP, ONYXX, was conceived after Jonathan finalized the tracklist of the EP. Onyx is a stone typically considered to be solely black, but it actually contains strains of both black and white. The white and black of the stone are synonymous with the elements of the EP; the songs together represent the light and dark facets of Jonathan's mind frame. Together, the light and dark make the singer who he is– and make him strong like stone.
Six months after his first EP was released, Jonathan follows it up with his second EP EDEN. "Eden is a place of perfection and paradise. This new EP represents my journey these past few months, trying to overcome obstacles and wanting to reach that place of paradise – my Eden."
If there’s one thing for sure, Jonathan Ayaz is ready to take the world of music by storm, and his first two EPs are just the beginning...
